Bayhealth Medical Center’s two hospitals and free-standing Emergency Center see a total of 100K patients per year. Our residency trained EM physicians are employed by the hospital and treat a wide range of pathology with excellent back-up and administrative support. Our largest Ed (48K volume) at the Kent Campus Hospital is only 6 years old and our new Sussex Campus hospital (33K volume) opened in February 2019. Bayhealth Medical Center is central and southern Delaware’s largest healthcare system. Kent and Sussex Hospitals and multiple offices distributed throughout the service area make up the Bayhealth system. We employ more than 3,700 people, including a medical staff of nearly 600 physicians.
